From powerful women
“I highly recommend Being and Born to anyone considering a home birth! Chloé was everything I needed for my most recent home birth. Every prenatal appointment was relaxed and fun. I had a virtually stress free pregnancy, a quick uncomplicated delivery, and my best postpartum yet!
Chloé ensured all my preferences for my birth were honored, included my daughters in my birth like I wanted, and has made multiple postpartum visits to check on me and baby. She truly cares so much about moms and their babies, both before and after birth!
I was never worried that anything would go wrong during my birth, but I completely trusted Chloé to know when and how to intervene if needed.
I genuinely am so grateful to Chloé for being my midwife!”

“This pregnancy I found not only a deep need and calling for more personalized and genuine care, but desire to experience birth undisturbed and in the divine way it was intended. This lead me to find Chloe with Being & Born. The level of care that Chloe provided shined a whole new light on pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. With her support, knowledge and validation, home felt like the safest space for our son’s birth.
In one of my last prenatal appointments I sat with Chloe drinking tea, going over physical and emotional feelings just like our other appointments. Reflecting on all of our time together, I felt a bit of sadness knowing these appointments would soon come to end. When a mother finds a provider who makes space for empowerment and validation, she can do anything her mind sets out to do. Chloe is that provider and more. She’ll always hold a special place in our family’s heart.”

“As I'm sitting here writing this one whole year after my birth (sorry Chloe 🤦🏻♀️), I'm reflecting on all that came to pass. Chloe made my entire experience so less stressful. Her office is child friendly. She is so calm and sweet and pleasant to talk to. I immediately felt comfortable with her. During my pregnancy with Syd, some huge life events happened and she made sure I knew she was there for me. You can't find that anywhere else. The whole experience with her was so personable and I felt like an actual human being that mattered, not just another job. When the time to give birth actually happened, she was so calm and soothing. She didn't freak out about anything, even when something happened that could make one freak out a bit. Everything was perfect and I am so thankful for Chloe!! *IF* I ever have another one, I will 100% be booking with Chloe again. 10/10, highly, highly recommend!!”

“I have had the pleasure to work with Chloe since I found out I was pregnant. I had been following her work for awhile (since back in her Doula days). I was eager to work with her and have my dream homebirth. This pregnancy took over a decade to dream, research, and plan. She took all my questions and concerns seriously and spent time answering and responding to everything. Each month I got more and more excited and Chloe helped us plan our dream birth as well as prepare us for different outcomes. My husband loved that she respected all decisions we made. I wanted a water birth but God had other plans. Chloe made me feel empowered and confident in my plan B. Chloe transitioned me smoothly to my bed where she gently reminded me to keep breathing. I thanked Jesus after every contraction and found myself in His embrace during the entire miracle. I was in my zone and finally came back to earth when Chloe told me to reach for my baby. I found a new love in my heart for my husband and gave birth to our beautiful healthy baby. I couldn’t have planned a better birth surrounded by my family. I am also so thankful for my birth team. Thank you Chloe for being a wonderful midwife and friend. I loved every minute and would do it all over again tomorrow if I could.”

“Bringing a new baby into the world is such an intimate and emotional experience. It can be just as stressful and terrifying as it is beautiful. Mama's and their families need all the support they can get throughout the pregnancy, labor, delivery and postpartum phases. Unfortunately, most ob practices tend to leave more to be desired in the terms of feeling supported. From the long wait times in the waiting rooms, to being treated like a number and rushed through appointments, feeling like you aren't being heard or your questions are not being answered, or feeling pressured to comply with testing and procedures that don't always make sense for you.
All of that brings me to this amazing woman named Chloé French with Being & Born. I've never met a more caring and supportive provider. Chloè went out of her way to make sure I felt truly supported throughout my entire pregnancy. There was no anxiety or stress walking into her office, it never felt rushed and I always left feeling calm and truly empowered. My husband and our 5 year old daughter were more than welcomed at every visit. Which really helped our daughter adjust to the idea of bringing a new baby into the family. Chloè is very patient, she allowed us all the time we needed to make sure all of our questions were answered and even allowed our daughter to finish her puzzles or pictures after the visit was over. Never complaining or making us feel rushed in anyway. She never makes you feel pressured, and always offers choices and explains in details the risks and benefits of those choices, allowing you to have full control of your prenatal care and birthing experience.
When i finally went into labor, Chloè supported me every step of the way. She arrived at my home with her caring smile, ready to help us bring our new baby into the world. Unfortunately, my labor didn't go according to plan and we transferred to the hospital to deliver. Chloè offered her advice on transferring there in the most compassionate and supportive way possible. And even though it wasn't what I had planned for my birth, I knew it was the best decision at the time. Chloè came to the hospital with us and continued to offer support, which made the transfer much easier and less stressful, knowing I had her in my corner. She continued to make sure that I felt completely comfortable with the choices I was making, even though she was no longer in charge. She even came back to the hospital the next day to check on me and the baby. And the care and support continued for postpartum care in our home after we were discharged. Even though things didn't go according to plan, I am so thankful that we decided to work with Chloè, and wouldn't have changed it for the world.
So in conclusion, if you are interested in a home birth and you are looking for a very knowledgeable, caring and supportive midwife who makes you feel more like family than just another client, look no further than Chloè!!”

“I switched over to Chloe when I was half way through my pregnancy.I did a discovery call with her and my favorite part about the discovery call was all the education she was able to provide just over that phone call. My husband and 3 year old daughter came to all the prenatal appointments and were included in my care. My daughter actually refers to Chloe as one of her friends now.
During the prenatal appointments, Chloe would go through a list of pregnancy symptoms and ask if I was having them. This made it easier for me to open up to her and helped create good communication between us, including my husband. He loved how involved he was able to be during this pregnancy. Throughout my care I felt heard, respected and educated. Chloe always responded to my texts/phone calls in a good timeframe.
As my due date came closer, I was filled with some fear because this was my first home birth. Chloe listened to those fears, validated them and even gave suggestions to help overcome the fear.
By the end of my pregnancy, Chloe had become part of the family. We would recommend her to anyone who is wishing to have a home birth experience.”

“Chloe French has been an awesome midwife. She is very professional and knowledgeable. Her skills are impeccable.
She is great at providing answers to every doubt, fear, or general question that a new parent could have. She is compasssionate through her words of encouragement and always takes one's feelings into account.
Every meeting with her left us with the strength, confidence, and awareness to be able to birth our first child. She also made us aware that some things don't go as planned but still enabled us to be in control of every outcome.
Although we did not start with Chloe at the very beginning (although I wish we had) every moment after felt like she knew us and our needs from the very start.
We could not have asked for a better person to help us on our birthing journey. Would definitely recommend her for your home birthing experience.”

“My appreciation for Chloe goes beyond words. Thank you Chloe for your unwavering support from day one. I was able to achieve my dream “pain free” home birth thanks to your belief in me and your knowledge. This experience is one I will never forget and I am forever grateful for our time together.”

“I cannot say enough how wonderful of an experience it was, from beginning to end, working with Chloe for my home birth. Chloe was warm, caring, and professional. Having had a very painful hospital delivery with my daughter, I was worried how a home birth would be, but Chloe gave me the space and tools to have a birth that I felt I was in control and able to have my baby without the pain and difficulty of being restricted to a hospital bed.”

“Chloe is absolutely amazing! Writing a review for her is difficult because words fall short of describing the wonderful and caring person that she is and the energy and work she brings to each mother/family. She is always available for even the tiniest of questions and she was always at least an hour with me for every visit—sometimes longer (which if you are comparing, my OBGYN at the most gave me 15 min. per appointment). But the main reason I picked her—because it can be hard selecting a midwife when you are judging off of one or two conversations—is her honesty and her modesty. Chloe can assess a situation and know her abilities and her limits. For me this is the most important, as much as I want a natural birth, there are things that may happen that require a hospital. From the very beginning, Chloe was open and honest with how she would handle difficult situations and when the time came (figures my birth would be one of those) she made that hard call and that trust we had ensured the healthy, safe birth of my baby girl! Chloe will always give the best advice for you and your child, let YOU make the decision, and she will easily become a part of your family. If I have any more children, it will only be under the care of Being and Born!”

“If you're thinking about home birth on Delmarva then look no further than Chloe! She is passionate about her career. Her knowledge, experience, and care isn't found in a hospital setting. Both of my pregnancies and home births were monitored and attended by Chloe and everything went smoothly. If something stumps her she won't stop until she finds an answer. She is your shoulder to cry on or your laugh you needed when you feel down. In a doctor's office your visit may take 5 minutes and your just a number to them. Chloe, on the other hand, gives you all the time you need. Nothing is rushed. She doesn't miss an assessment. You're her friend and she will make you feel like super woman! With only a set number of clients a month she can truly get to know you, your baby, your family and everything you envisioned your birth to be- she will try to make it happen! She lets you guide your birth, intervenes only when necessary or if you want her to! You want to catch your baby? Fine! You want her to do it? Cool. You want a water birth? Yes! On the bed? Yep. You want to birth in nature somewhere... I'm sure she would make it work. You want no one there or your whole family- it's all good! If you desire freedom of choice she's your midwife! Our bodies were built for this- you CAN do it! Call her to see if it's a good fit- no strings attached.”

“I’ve always wanted a relationship with my midwife where I could text her when I’m feeling low, or had a question, or even just random pregnancy related excitements. And that personalized care is why I chose home birth for my fifth and final pregnancy. I transferred care from a huge OB/GYN practice to Being & Born just after 20 weeks. When I spoke to Chloé on the phone for our initial consultation chat, I instantly felt a connection that I could not ignore. Chloé made me feel welcomed, safe, and as if she genuinely cared about my health, pregnancy, and baby. I felt her passion for birth work right from the start, and I knew I needed to hire her as my midwife. With each appointment, Chloé became so much more to myself and my family than just a midwife. She always involved my whole family at each in home appointment, and would never hesitate to teach us all how to palpate for the baby, or listen to his heartbeat using a fetoscope…
Chloé is very knowledgeable and takes as much time as necessary to listen, teach, and care. My husband and I told her what kind of birth we wanted (low key, intimate, hands off), and that’s exactly what we got and so much more. The birth of our son is a moment in our lives that we will never forget, and we have Chloé to thank in large part. After my baby was born, I experienced some hemorrhaging, and after attempting several measures to get the bleeding to stop at home, Chloé made the decision to have me transferred to the hospital. I wanted to add this tidbit to say, Chloé prepared us for several different scenarios (including hospital transfer) ahead of time. I felt completely safe in her care and I trusted her decision to have me transferred. And even with that happening to me, I’d still choose home birth over and over again. If you’re on the hunt for a midwife, your search is over. Chloé is the one!”

“Laying here for an early morning feeding and can't help but be so grateful for this amazing being Chloé French . I have to say that I'm sad our journey together is so close to being over. I loved my birth so so much. I miss that day already.
The magic of it all. The love and care that filled my home. The beauty of my mental capabilities and my body's amazing strength. I've never felt so held and well taken care of. So supported.
I'm so grateful she's made home birth accessible to everyone. I'm so grateful for the sweet and strong energy she brought into my home. She truly is an expert at helping women birth babies!! I felt so safe in her care and got to birth my way...I will remember that day forever. I couldn't recommend Chloé more, she is a phenomenal midwife and such a comfortable person to be with. Thank you Being & Born for making my dream birth a reality!!!”

“Where to start? Chloé is such a knowledgeable, patient, and calm presence in any situation that it was no surprise that she is an incredible support during pregnancy, birth, and the post partum period. She was a wonderful mentor to my eldest daughter who at 2 was determined to learn as much as she could about placentas and newborns as possible. She is an excellent listener who respects and honors your wishes. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking for top notch birth worker.”

“I have been meaning to write this for quite some time, but honestly, I have struggled to put into so few words just how spectacular Chloé French truly is. She is an exceptionally beautiful soul and a highly capable and qualified birth professional. Her passion for uterus-havers and babies is palpable, and the sacred way she regards pregnancy and birth is a breath of fresh air. After a traumatic first pregnancy and birth experience in 2017, I knew I wanted something different with my second child in 2020. I hired Chloé when I was only 5 weeks pregnant after one conversation with her because I immediately knew how amazing and invaluable she would be. What I didn’t know at the time was that a deadly pandemic was about to strike, and I would end up having a very complicated experience that was far from the one I dreamt of and yearned for. Even knowing all of that now though, I would hands-down hire her again. In fact, all of that was all the more reason for me to hire Chloé. Bringing her onto my team ultimately proved to be one of the best decisions I made for me and my baby throughout my entire pregnancy. I was one of Chloé’s more difficult clients, medically speaking, as I had a complex birth history and ultimately endured a second high-risk pregnancy. Despite every curve ball that was thrown my way, Chloé was there by my side coaching me and supporting me and loving me.
I was hospitalized for several weeks leading up to my baby’s birth, and ultimately I delivered preterm in the hospital. Due to the pandemic I was not allowed to physically have Chloé by my side for any of it, but Chloé was always there for me and the information and wisdom and love she offered was truly priceless—Chloé was the difference between a traumatic experience and an empowering one. She provided me with information about my rights and my options, and helped me find the strength and courage to advocate for myself. Her emotional and mental support alone was worth every penny. Even though I was alone in a scary place, I never felt alone because I knew I had Chloé. Thanks to her, I walked out of a very difficult situation feeling supported, seen, heard, respected, and empowered rather than brutalized and heartbroken as I had with my first baby. It was my privilege to have Chloé on my team, and I will forever be grateful for her. I could write a book about Chloé’s amazing attributes and her contribution to my journey, but for the sake of brevity let me just say this: if you’re on the fence about bringing Chloé onto your team, don’t be—hire this remarkable human now before she books up.”

“Chloe attended and was a critical part of my last two births (2017 (Homebirth) & 2019 (High Risk birth at Christiana)). I recommend her 1000 times over!”
